Proverbs 6: 16 – 19 (NKJV)
These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil,
a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.
Hate is a pretty serious word.
If anyone were to use this language of scripture in a public setting, they would be labeled as totally intolerant.
God actually hates things.
Is this the same God who is a God of love?
I wonder how many of these are alive and well in the church you attend?
Sowing seeds of discord, is probably at the top of the list in most churches, and yet God hates it.
I wonder how often do we just skim over this list, and think of somebody else?
I guess if the shoe fits, maybe we ought to actually wear it.
If God hates these things, then so should His followers.
The definition of “abomination”, is: “The feeling of extreme disgust and hatred.”
It might be good practice, for God’s people to look over this list.
It might be also good for God’s people, to repent of any one of these, that fits the persons profile
