Silent Killer

Revelation 2: 4       ESV
But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.

Heart disease is the number one killer of all Americans.
Just last year, over 800,000 people died of heart related issues.

Is there a heart problem in the church today?
Can our heart problems be the cause of spiritual death?

Here are some additional signs where it might indicate an abandoned heart toward the things of Christ:

·         You look to be affirmed by the world, as opposed to being approved by God.
John 15: 19 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own...

·         You won’t share the Words of Jesus to others, because you don’t want to be embarrassed.
Luke 9: 26 26 For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory...

·         You refuse to give up a sinful habit, that might be a stumbling block to another person.
Romans 14: 13 13...but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.

Heart problems are often silent killers.
I wonder how many people will escape this silent killer?
