Luke 2: 49
49 And He said to them,
“Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My
Father’s business?”
Last week I had an appointment to see an oncologist post my
Melanoma surgery.
Dr. Shamsuddin Virani spent an entire hour discussing his
plans of care, and covered every one of my options.
Towards the end of our conversation, he said... “Now that
I have told you all about my business, on your next visit, I want to hear about
your business...”
I have to tell you, what he said caught me a little off
guard.
He wants to know about my business?
He wants to know about why I minister the Gospel of Jesus?
If someone knew you were a regular church goer, would you
know how to give an answer if they asked you about it?
If someone saw you studying your Bible, would you be able to
give an answer for the hope that you have?
I sincerely hope that you’re about your Father’s business.
Is it a chore for you to study God’s Word? When’s the last
time you truthfully read the Bible for yourself?
Are you just taking your Priest’s or Pastor’s word for it?
Has something gotten your attention, other than God Himself?
One day every person will bend a knee, and confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord.
One day every person, will give an account of the deeds done
in the body, whether they be good or bad.
Maybe it’s time we all begin to prepare and rehearse for the
answer we’re going to give, about our Father’s business...
