Submit Resist & Flee

James 4: 7

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Don’t we often get this backwards?

We sometimes submit to the devil, and resist the things of God.

Why would we put up such resistance to the One who truly loves us?

And why do we submit, to the one who hates us?
