1 Corinthians 9: 19
Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
What a statement made by Paul, but then again knowing Paul’s nature, I’m not surprised he would make such a claim.
Paul made himself a slave to everyone.
So he could do what? So he could take advantage of anyone that would let him?
No, so he could win as many as possible to the faith that he embraced.
Will that be your goal this week?
To be someone’s slave?
Didn’t Jesus say something during the last supper, about being a servant?
Maybe Paul was onto something.
Maybe we should take that foot washing thing that Jesus did to the disciples, literally.
Wouldn’t that be a “win”—“win” proposition for everyone involved?
I wonder if that’s what motivates us in our walk of faith, that we could win as many as possible?
Maybe it’s time we take a deep look within ourselves, to see what really motivates us in the first place……
