1 Timothy 3: 16 NLT
16 Without question, this is the
great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and
vindicated by the Spirit.
He was
seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the
world and taken to Heaven in glory.
It almost
seems that Paul threw up his arms when he considered what Jesus accomplished.
Paul was one
of the great intellects of his time, and yet this theology thing, was still a
total mystery to even him.
It’s amazing
how many people, who think they have all the spiritual answers the world would
ever need.
Maybe the
reason that Psalm
46: 10
says… “Be still and know that I am God…”, is because normally,
we’ve just got too much to say.
Maybe Jesus
is just indescribable?
Is it
possible that our words just aren’t adequate enough to explain His character?
When’s the
last time you just entered God’s presence with sheer awe and reverence?
His loving
acts centered around us, are without words to even explain.
Take some
quiet time today, and just bask in His greatness…and then don’t say a single
word…
“Father
God, forgive us when we just have too much to say about Your nature.
Help us
to fall completely on our faces, and worship you today with a quiet and
contrite heart.
We don’t
always understand who You are, but we stop for a moment today, just praising
and worshipping Your majesty. Amen.”
