Acts 26: 16
I
have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you
have seen of me and what I will show you.
A couple of prominent people,
have said some thought provoking things, about being a servant;
·
Mother
Theresa… “You can serve without love, but you cannot love without serving.”
·
Charles
Spurgeon… “The world has a great need for Christ, and we have a great Christ
for our needs.”
I’d love to tell you that I’m
a great surrendered servant for the cause of Christ, but that wouldn’t
necessarily be true.
I do, whenever given the
opportunity, let the people I meet, know about the Jesus I love.
I met a man yesterday in
Black Creek, and it didn’t take long to notice, that he needed to be served a
word of love.
He has spent the last 40
years in a wheel chair. He’s been paralyzed from the waist down, since a
terrible industrial accident.
I came to his house, on the
anniversary of his accident. Think that was a coincidence? Not hardly.
I’d like to say, that it was
the reason I went to meet him, but I had a need to have fulfilled.
I told him about a man named Jesus,
who died in his place. I told him that despite all the problems going on in the
world, that God still cared very much, and then we prayed.
It was obviously what he
needed to hear, because the e-mail below, was waiting for me the very next
morning;

Jesus came to my shop today.
He bought 3-15 gallon barrels and over paid for them. He told me he loves
me and I should count my blessings.
He tried fooling me by
telling me his name was Dan Gibson but after he left I caught on. He didn't
really look like I have pictured Jesus, but I know it was Him.
Thanks, Rene' &

May God be truly glorified by
our acts of service, and by our collective everyday witness….
